There wasn't a grand announcement. No ribbon cutting. No five-year business plan printed and laminated.
Just a whisper in my heart and a choice to say yes.
That's how Faithful Flock Farm began, with a quiet yes to something I didn't fully understand yet. And honestly? I'm still learning what that yes means every single day.
It Started With a Stirring
Have you ever felt pulled toward something you couldn't quite explain? Something that didn't make perfect sense on paper but felt right in your spirit?
That's what happened to me.
I wasn't raised on a farm. I didn't grow up knowing the difference between a Rhode Island Red and a Leghorn. I couldn't have told you what "broody" meant or why chickens need grit.
But somewhere along the way, God planted a seed. A desire for something simpler. Something rooted. Something that would require me to slow down, get my hands dirty, and trust Him in ways I never had before.
So I said yes.
Not a loud, confident yes. More like a hesitant, "Okay, Lord… I don't know what I'm doing, but I'll follow."

No Business Plan, Just Faith
I wish I could tell you I had it all figured out from the start. That I researched for months, consulted experts, and mapped out every detail before taking the leap.
But that's not my story.
My story is messy. It's full of late-night Google searches, phone calls to friends who knew more than I did, and prayers whispered over feed bags and fence posts.
When I started this small farm story, I didn't have a roadmap. I had a calling.
And sometimes, that's enough.
Faith-based farming isn't about having all the answers. It's about showing up anyway. It's about trusting that the One who called you will also equip you, even when the learning curve feels impossibly steep.
Learning Through the Storms
If you've spent any time on a farm, you know things don't always go according to plan.
Winds come. Fences fail. Chicks arrive in surprising ways. The weather doesn't cooperate. The predators don't take days off. And some mornings, you walk out to the coop not knowing what you'll find.
I've had my share of storms, both the literal kind and the kind that shake your heart.
There have been moments when I've stood in the mud, rain dripping down my face, wondering if I heard God right. Wondering if this was really what He wanted for me. Wondering if I was cut out for this at all.
But here's what I've learned, growth often comes through change. And God's care doesn't always look the way we expect.
Sometimes it looks like warm straw on a cold night. Sometimes it looks like a neighbor showing up with helping hands. Sometimes it looks like a gentle rescue at just the right moment.

The Daily Work of Faithfulness
There's a verse that has become the heartbeat of everything we do here at Faithful Flock Farm:
"Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.", 1 Corinthians 4,2
Faithfulness isn't flashy. It's not the stuff of Instagram reels or viral moments.
It's the quiet work that happens when no one is watching. It's filling water buckets in the heat of summer. It's checking on the flock one more time before bed. It's choosing to show up, day after day, even when you're tired.
It's a daily yes.
That's what this farm has taught me more than anything. The big, dramatic moments are rare. But the small, faithful moments? Those are everywhere. And they matter.
Every egg collected. Every coop cleaned. Every animal fed and cared for. It's all part of the quiet work that makes up a life of stewardship.
What Safety Really Means
One of the most surprising lessons I've learned on this journey is about safety.
I used to think safety meant comfort. Predictability. Smooth roads and easy days.
But the animals have taught me something different.
Safety doesn't always mean comfort. Sometimes it means being moved to a new pasture. Sometimes it means change we didn't ask for. Sometimes it means trusting the shepherd even when we don't understand where we're being led.
Our flock has shown me that over and over again.
They settle into new spaces. They adapt to new routines. They trust that food will come and shelter will be provided, not because they understand the bigger picture, but because they've learned to trust the one who cares for them.
Isn't that what faith looks like?

Trusting God When Life Feels Uncertain
If there's one thing I want you to take away from this small farm story, it's this,
Even when things aren't perfect yet, God is still planting something good.
I don't have it all figured out. The farm isn't "finished." There are still dreams on the horizon, still lessons to learn, still storms to weather.
But I've seen God's faithfulness in too many moments to doubt Him now.
I've seen Him provide when the budget was tight. I've seen Him send the right person at the right time. I've seen Him turn my failures into unexpected blessings.
That's the heart of faith-based farming. It's not about perfection. It's about trust.
It's about believing that the same God who called you to something will walk with you through it, mud, storms, and all.
An Invitation to Join Us
Faithful Flock Farm isn't just a place where we raise animals and gather eggs. It's a place where we practice saying yes to God, one day at a time.
And we'd love for you to be part of it.
Whether you stop by our farm updates to see what's happening, check out our products, or just follow along from wherever you are, you're welcome here.
This community is built on the belief that small, faithful work matters. That God uses ordinary people and ordinary places for extraordinary purposes. That a quiet yes can lead to something beautiful.
So if you've been feeling that stirring in your own heart, that pull toward something you can't quite explain, I want to encourage you.
Say yes.
It doesn't have to be loud. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be willing.
God will do the rest.
A Little Closing Note
We also wanted to share a small “coming soon” that’s close to our hearts, a new book called When God Plants a Farm is releasing on Amazon Valentine’s weekend.
It goes deeper into the quiet yes that started Faithful Flock Farm, what it looked like in real life, what it cost, and how God kept meeting us in the ordinary, steady days.
