Post Categories

The air is finally starting to change here at Faithful Flock Farm. We can feel the subtle shift in the wind as March moves forward, bringing the promise of new growth and busier days in the garden. It is a season of anticipation, and we have been waiting for this moment with quiet hearts and much prayer.

We are so incredibly joyful to share that the paperback version of our book, When God Plants a Farm, is officially available for you to hold in your hands. While the Kindle version has been out for a little while, there is something truly special about the weight of a physical book. We believe that stories are meant to be felt as much as they are read.

You can find the paperback right now on Amazon by following this link: https://www.amazon.com/When-God-Plants-Farm-Faithful-ebook/dp/B0GQCRGWFX/. It has been a long journey to get to this point, and we are so grateful for the patience you have shown us. Seeing these stories in print feels like a gentle harvest of all the lessons we have learned on this land.

The Beauty of a Physical Book

There is a unique peace that comes with sitting on the porch with a physical book and a warm cup of coffee. We often find ourselves overwhelmed by screens and digital notifications in our daily lives. A paperback book offers a quiet escape, a chance to turn real pages and feel the texture of the paper under your fingertips.

When we designed the cover and laid out the chapters, we envisioned you reading these stories during your own quiet moments. We hoped these pages would find a home on your bedside table or tucked into a bag for a trip to the park. A physical book becomes a companion in a way that a digital file simply cannot.

We also know that many of you love to share books with friends and family members. A paperback can be gifted, inscribed with a personal note, or passed across a kitchen table. It is our hope that these stories of faith and farming will travel far and wide, bringing a bit of our farm’s peace into your own home.

Stories of Our Beloved Animals

One of the most exciting parts of having a physical book is seeing the names of our animal family in print. If you have followed our journey for a while, you know that the animals are the true heart of Faithful Flock Farm. They teach us about patience, resilience, and the simple joy of being cared for by a loving Creator.

In the pages of When God Plants a Farm, you will get to know Esther, our spirited hen who often reminds us that even the smallest creatures have big personalities. Her adventures in the coop and the pasture are more than just stories, they are reflections of the life and energy that God breathes into this farm every day.

You will also read about the faithful companions who walk beside us as we work the soil. Milo, our sweet Maltese dog, is never far from our side, offering his quiet support and gentle presence. Panda Bear, our black and white Shih Tzu dog, brings a sense of playfulness and light to even the longest workdays.

Supporting the Farm’s Mission

When you purchase a copy of our book, you are doing so much more than just buying a collection of stories. You are directly supporting the mission and daily operations of Faithful Flock Farm. Every book sold helps us continue to care for our animals, maintain our pastures, and share the message of wholesome, local food with our community.

And we have a joyful little farm update to share too. Our Serama hatch has brought 5 chicks officially into the flock, and 3 more are still in the pipping stage, with one of them almost to the zipping stage! It is such a suspenseful and joyful moment for the farm. After the storm damage and the hard winds, these tiny peeps feel like such a sweet silver lining, a reminder that God is still bringing new life right in the middle of the mess.

We believe that agriculture is a form of stewardship, a way to honor the land and the resources we have been given. Your support allows us to keep our practices sustainable and our focus on the well-being of our flock. It is a beautiful circle of community and faith that we are so honored to be a part of.

New Faces in the Brooder

This season has brought some brand new little personalities into our care. We went to pick up 12 new chicks, but somehow we ended up coming home with 14, a little “farmer’s dozen” surprise and just more life to love and steward on the farm. 🤍

Joining the farm soon are Ghost Zombie, Cream Legbar, Americana, Isbar/Silverrudd Blue, Splash Americana, Speckled Sussex, and Seramas, and we are excited to watch each one grow into its own place in the flock.

And we have one more special arrival on the way. Our Ayam Cemani eggs are arriving this Monday, the same day the book launches, and they will go straight into the incubator. We are already looking forward to some beautiful, all-black chicks arriving toward the end of April. 🤍

In the brooder right now, our current residents include Black Sex Links, Australorps, Delawares, ISA Browns, and Leghorns. They are in that sweet in between stage, still tiny and fluffy, but already finding their routines.

And as of today, we already have 25 chicks thriving in the brooder, which honestly feels like a little miracle of daily care and tiny peeps. With this absolute explosion of babies, we are officially on the hunt for a brand new coop so they will have plenty of room as they grow.

When we wrote When God Plants a Farm, we tried to put words to this exact kind of growth, the everyday care that no one sees, the clean bedding, the fresh water, and the quiet check-ins that keep a flock healthy. This is stewardship in real time, and it reminds us that faithful work is often small, steady, and deeply meaningful.

If you would like to see more of what goes on here daily, we invite you to browse our photo gallery. You can see the faces of the animals mentioned in the book and get a glimpse of the beauty we are blessed to witness every morning. It is our way of inviting you over for a virtual visit until we can see you in person.

The Hardback Version is Coming Soon

For those of you who prefer the sturdy feel of a hardback book, we have more good news to share. The hardback version of When God Plants a Farm is being listed on Monday, today, and we are so excited to finally see it take its place right alongside the paperback. We cannot wait to see it on the shelf, with its durable cover and timeless appeal.

We will be sure to post another update the very moment the hardback becomes available for order. We know that some books are meant to be keepsakes, and we believe this hardback will be a lovely addition to any home library. It is designed to stand the test of time, just like the faith-based values we strive to live by here on the farm.

In the meantime, the paperback is ready and waiting for you. If you decide to pick up a copy, we would love to hear what you think of it. You can always reach out to us through our contact page or leave a comment on our latest farm update. Your feedback and stories of how the book touched your heart mean the world to us.

Growing Together in Faith

The title of the book, When God Plants a Farm, reflects our deep-seated belief that we are merely the hands and feet of a much larger plan. Every seed planted and every chick hatched is a testament to the growth that only God can provide. We are simply grateful to be part of the process and to share that journey with you.

We hope that as you read these tales, you feel a sense of connection to the earth and to the Creator who made it. Farm life is not always easy, but it is always meaningful. We have tried to capture the highs and the lows, the muddy boots and the golden sunsets, all within these pages.

Whether it is a workshop or a farm tour, we would love to meet you and share our slice of heaven with you. Keeping in touch through our blog is a wonderful way to stay updated on all the happenings here.

Thank you for being such a vital part of our flock. Your encouragement and support are what keep us moving forward, even on the days when the chores seem never-ending. We hope you enjoy the paperback version of the book and that it brings a bit of farm-fresh joy to your heart.

If you have already started reading, feel free to share your favorite animal story with us. Is it Esther’s curiosity that makes you smile, or the loyal nature of Milo and Panda Bear? We love hearing which parts of our lives resonate most with yours.

We look forward to seeing where this book journey takes all of us together. May your days be filled with the same peace and purpose we find here among the hens and the dogs.

"And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." ( Isaiah 58:11 🤍)
